Taxus adpressa ‘Fowle’– ‘Fowle’ is a very compact form of Taxus baccata, or the English Yew. Its needles are dark green and short, almost stubby compared to other varieties. The habit of this conifer is somewhat vase-shaped when young and will get wider than tall. It thrives on good drainage and acidic soil. Plant this yew in full sun to part shade as a hedge of unusual character or as a single specimen. ‘Fowle’ is a female form, so red berries will form as an added ornamental feature.
