Pseudolarix amabilis – Golden-larch is not a true larch, but has the same characteristic of exhibiting great fall color before dropping its needles. It is slow growing but can reach 40-45 feet in time. With a habit that has broad horizontal branching, it is also open enough to allow under planting. The Golden-larch needs full sun and an acidic soil. The medium green foliage will turn a burnt-orange in fall before dropping.
